Psychic Protection or Shielding from Negative Energy

 What is protection or shielding?

 Protection which is often called shielding, is a type of meditation/ visualization used to protect oneself from negative energy. . It’s one of those building blocks that one needs to create a strong foundation for further spiritual study and exploration. In a nutshell, protection or shielding is creating a protective barrier around oneself, another, place or a material object.

 When wouldyou use Psychic Protection or Shielding

 Psychic protection should be used during any type of spiritual work like divination, healing or ritual. Shielding can be done any time you feel the need for psychic protection whether you are doing anything spiritual or mundane. For example… if you were going in for surgery or flying on a plane, shielding is a good idea. If you were going in for a job interview or any stressful situation, you can shield yourself. If you find yourself picking up on the energy of others, you can protect yourself from it.

 How do you shield yourself from negative energy?

 Shielding is very easy. But first you need to ground and center (directions are on my blog)

  1.  Breathe in deeply through the nose while envisioning that you are drawing in god/ goddess/ guardian angels/ universal energy or whatever…. Into your physical being.
  2. Now exhale deeply through the mouth envisioning this breathe coming out of you as a brilliant white light with shimmers of rainbow colors.
  3. In your minds eye, see this light forming a bubble around you. This bubble is filled with protective energy from those spiritual beings that you requested help from. Don’t forget to thank them.
  4. You can program this bubble to shield differently.
  • You can have it turn reflective like a mirror and reflect anything that you don’t want.
  • My favorite shield is to use the white light with rainbow colors (like a moonstone) and have it transmute or change any negative energy to positive energy that is at my disposal. You see, energy is neither good or bad. It just IS. So if you feeling someone is sending negative energy to you, rather than reflect it and waste free energy, change it to positive energy. Program the shield to make that energy attract love, money, healing and so on.

 Note: The most important thing about a psychic protection or shield is to have FAITH! You have to know within every fiber of your being that you are divinely protected and that no harm can come to you.

I am the kind of person that studies people and human nature in general. I like to understand so that I can avoid making the mistakes that others have already made. I’m not saying that I don’t find creative new ways to make mistakes (I’m an expert at that). I don’t like to pass up lessons when they come my way. I think the single most important thing I have learned from dealing with my customers is to keep it simple. People tend to complicate everything and make it more difficult than need be which often leads to giving up. I get many emails on my candle magick (I offer them because they are the easiest form of magick one can do). I get overwhelmed with emails asking how long to burn the candle or where should I position this or that. I give them the same response every time…. “Where do YOU think it should go?”. I tell them to stop over-thinking everything and follow your intuition. They usually give it thought and write me back and ask for my approval. My message to all of you is to follow your heart when you are manifesting a change in your life. Stop worrying about the tiny details. When you fuss and worry… and doubt…. you create a blockage to your efforts. If you want to cleanse your home…. or attract love into your life… follow the instructions but don’t worry about perfection. The perfection is in your intention and in your faith in yourself. The words, gestures or tools for a spell are just there to help you keep your intention focused. In truth…. nothing is needed except for your intention and faith.


Count your Blessings!

Did you know thoughts and words have energy? Like energy attracts like energy in the spiritual realms. Negative thoughts and words can create negative results. Ever have “one of those days” and you dare to ask what else could possibly go wrong next… and next thing you know…. Something happens to bring your mood down even further? A huge example can be seen in the news as the American economic crisis unfolds. The media fed us fear over the last 8 years on the economy, folks began to worry and react. Like a giant snowball, this problem started from a tiny snowflake into a huge monster because they continually gave us reasons to be fearful.

BUT…. The good news is that positive energy can have just the opposite affect. You see, no amount of worry can do anything to change the situation our government has put us in. There is really nothing any of us can do short of writing our leaders and expressing our concerns. So, if there is nothing you can do, then you need to put that concern on a shelf for now. Life is too short to worry about problems that haven’t yet come to pass. If and when they do, you can then take action towards your own solution to dealing with it.

What can I do now?

Start a blessing journal. I’m talking about little things that happen during the day that make you smile inside. It might be something like finding a dollar in the parking lot or winning a buck with a scratch off ticket. Or your child blowing you a kiss or saying something that makes you laugh your butt off. It might be the beauty of a spider web dripping with dew or your dog licking the tears off your face. It might be more practical like your electric bill dropped $20 this month or you didn’t get stopped in road construction today. The idea is to pay attention to the tiniest things for which you are thankful. Write them down. Set a daily goal of 10 or 20. You might want to purchase a journal that strikes your fancy and a matching pen. You can just use a spiral notebook. It doesn’t matter. Being mindful is all it takes.

What in God’s name are you talking about?!

By keeping this journal, you are looking for things for which to be thankful…. Things that brought a little lift to your spirit even if only for a fleeting second. Writing them takes a little effort and discipline. But it also helps keep your mind thinking of new things to add. In other words, it makes you more aware.

How does this work?

I have shown you what fear does with the drastic example of the media and the American public. From that, you can see what fear does. It causes us to react and change our behaviors. Fear is a negative emotion…. And it has negative results. With that in mind, what difference would your life have if you turned your focus from fear towards hope? Have you ever worried to death about something and it didn’t get any better? Worry can’t fix anything. If a situation is negative it can’t be fixed with negativity.

Positive situations don’t need fixed. With the infusion of more positive energy, it only gets better.

By training your mind to focus towards the positive, you are empowered to overcome the negative. Bad things will happen to all of us. It can never be fixed with negative emotions.

So… by looking for reasons to feel blessed, you will start to become more and more aware of that feeling in your day. As you feel that little lift, your emotional vibration increases. This mindfulness is very habit forming. You will not only feel better, but you will also notice that things tend to go your way more often. Some would call that coincidence or even say it’s your imagination. But those who work with energy understand that like energy attracts like energy. What you are doing is using the law of attraction to create a happier state of mind.

How will counting my blessings help me?

The more blessed you feel, the more blessing you attract. And when life throws you a curve ball, you will be able to focus on the solution, not the problem. If there is no solution, then you understand that you have to change focus towards something positive. And when troublesome situations pop up, you already know that you have to calm down and keep your emotions in check. Find a silver lining in the problem and expand upon it.

How do I find the time?

If you are looking for time, it isn’t there. If you make the time, then you will have it. It takes maybe 5 or 10 minutes a day to do this. Keep your journal with you. Write when you sit at the doctor’s office. Write while waiting for your kid’s sport to begin. Write while you wait in traffic.

Is there anything else I can do?

Yes! You can share this practice with others. The country (and world) runneth over with negative energy. If more and more Americans would focus on the good things in our lives rather than the bad, we could actually change the negative situation to a place of hope once again.  Hope is a very powerful positive emotion. If I had a TV show I could reach lots of people. Since I don’t, I’m doing it one person at a time.

1 week challenge

All I ask of you is that you do this for one week. Set a goal of 10 or more blessings per day. See how your emotional state is at the end of the challenge. See if anything has improved in your life over that period. What do you have to lose but negative energy?

Chakra Healing Meditation

I use this meditation almost every morning before I even get out of bed so I start off with clear and balanced chakras. However, you may want to meditate later in order to create a calming atmosphere to aid in your meditation. You may wish to: light incense, candles, play soothing music or move to a sacred space.

 Chakra Clearing – to clear away negative energy from the chakra

Chakra Balancing – to balance the chakras so they are similar in size

Chakra Healing – when clearing and balancing are done together

  •  The bottom 3 chakras deal with more mundane issues and the upper ones are more spiritual in nature.
  •  Starting from the root chakra, each chakra spins clockwise a little faster than the one below it.
  •  Using the diagram as a guide, you can see the approximate size that you should visualize to balance your chakras.
  •  If during the day, you notice your cheerful attitude slipping, mentally scan your chakras to identify the problem. You can take a moment or two to clear and balance a chakra without going through the whole meditation.
  •  If you choose to meditate lying down, you can lay chakra crystals on your chakras. They are used as a meditation aid and may make the meditation more effective. Please check out our chakra crystal healing kit www.alleghenycandles.com/chakra_balancing.html

  • You may wish to wear rainbow clothing or jewelry or have rainbow in your home décor to remind you to stay focused on your chakras.

 

Breathing

The most important thing you need for proper meditation is to learn to breath properly. You should breath in through the nose deeply filling your lungs to capacity. To breath deeply enough, your abdomen should expand to fill the bottom of your lungs. Most Americans breath only with the top portion of their lungs which explains why we are subject to lung related illnesses and poor circlulation.  You should exhale deeply and slowly and completely. Hold for 2 seconds and inhale again. If you have never meditated before then you will need to practice this method of breathing.

Getting Ready

Find a place to meditate where you will least likely be disturbed. If you feel the need, prepare the area with candles, music, incense etc… Move your cell phone to another room. If you live with adults, let them know that you are going to meditate and not to be disturbed. If you have small children, you will do best to meditate while they are sleeping. Shut pets out of the meditation room. Wear loose comfortable clothing.

  • If you have trouble staying focused during meditation, just return to the point where your mind wandered. Don’t get angry or frustrated at yourself as meditation is a learned discipline.
  • If you feel the need to spend more time on a chakra or you lose concentration, you can work on that chakra until you are satisfied.
  • You can control the length of your meditation by increasing the time spent on each chakra.

 

Once your meditation area is ready, it is time to begin. Meditation can be done sitting in a chair or on the floor, lying down or in a reclining position. You will have to find which position allows you to relax enough without falling asleep. Which ever position you use, arms and legs should be relaxed and not crossed (unless you are using a meditation position that calls for it such as Yoga).

  1. Once positioned comfortably, begin breathing deeply, slowly and rhythmically. Imagine yourself becoming more and more relaxed with each breath. Feel tension melting out of your body starting at the top of your head and flowing into the floor.
  2.  Continue to breath properly. When you are relaxed, visualized a large white bubble around you. This is a shield of protection during your meditation. Once you can see this bubble in your mind’s eye, you are in a safe place protected by your angels and spirit guides.
  3. Now you begin to work on clearing and balancing your chakras.

 

Chakra Meditation

 

  • In your mind’s eye, visualize a cloud of bright ruby red. Breathe deeply and take this cloud into your lungs. As you exhale, push that energy down into the genital region of your body. Repeat the breathing in of the red cloud 3 more times and pushing it downward. With each breath, visualize the red in the lowest part of the trunk of your body becoming warm and energized. Watch as this lovely ruby red color swirls and circles clockwise in your root chakra. The root chakra is the area of security (financial, emotional) and safety (physical, spiritual).
  • Next, visualize a cloud of bright orange. Breathe deeply and take this cloud into your lungs. As you exhale, push the orange color down into the naval region of your body. Repeat the breathing in of the orange cloud 3 more times and pushing it downward. With each breath, visualize this cheerful orange color growing more intense and swirling and circling clockwise in your naval chakra region. The sacral or naval chakra is the area of sexual energy and balance (emotional, spiritual and mundane). Clearing this chakra helps restore balance in relationships (romantic, friendships, relatives and with ourselves) and in your personal life (finance, addiction, good and bad habits).
  • Again, visualize a cloud of bright sunny yellow. Breathe deeply and take this cloud into your lungs. As you exhale, push the yellow cloud down into the solar plexus region of your body (just below your breast bone). Repeat the breathing in of the yellow cloud 3 more times, pushing it downward. With each breath, visualize this yellow color growing brighter, swirling and circling clockwise in your solar plexus chakra region. The solar plexus chakra is the area of power, energy and control. Clearing this chakra helps regain power and control of situations surrounding yourself where before, others had. It also helps you have more self-discipline and willpower.
  • Visualize a cloud of bright emerald green. Breathe deeply and take this cloud into your lungs. As you exhale, push the green cloud into the heart region of your body. Repeat the breathing in of the green cloud 3 more times, pushing it into the heart area. With each breath, visualize this green color growing brighter, swirling and circling clockwise in your heart chakra region. The heart chakra is the area of love, emotions and well-being. Clearing this chakra helps recover from emotional pain and suffering, allows one to open their heart to love from others and to learn to love oneself. Healing this chakra also encourages forgiveness of others or oneself. This chakra also helps open you to the psychic ability of clairsentience (which means clear-feeling) also known as intuition and divine guidance coming through feelings and emotions.
  • Visualize a cloud of brilliant sky blue. Breathe deeply and take this cloud into your lungs. As you exhale, push the blue cloud into the throat region of your body. Repeat the breathing in of the blue cloud 3 more times, pushing it into the throat area. With each breath, visualize this blue color growing brighter, swirling and circling clockwise in the throat chakra region. Feel your throat growing warm and energized. The throat chakra is the area of self-expression and communication. Clearing this chakra helps you to clearly communicate your thoughts and feelings to others openly and honestly. Balancing this chakra helps you give and receive spiritual messages more freely (clairvoyance). It allows you to find the right words to use these messages to help others.
  • Visualize a cloud of indigo blue. Breathe deeply and take this cloud into your lungs. As you exhale, push the indigo cloud into the 3rd eye region or brow chakra of your head. Repeat the breathing in of the indigo cloud 3 more times, pushing it into the 3rd eye area. With each breath, visualize this indigo color growing brighter, swirling and circling clockwise in your 3rd eye region. The 3rd chakra is the area of higher consciousness and psychic awareness. Clearing this chakra helps you to operate from a more spiritual state of being. The brow chakra when balanced can be a connection to the spiritual realms. It can awaken one’s intuitive ability and open communication with higher beings.
  • Visualize a cloud of bright royal purple. Breathe deeply and take this cloud into your lungs. As you exhale, push the purple cloud into the top portion of your head. Repeat the breathing in of the purple cloud 3 more times, pushing it into the crown area. With each breath, visualize this purple color growing more intense, swirling and circling clockwise in your crown chakra region. The crown chakra is the area of divine guidance Clearing this chakra helps you gain claircognizance (clear-knowing) and to receive guidance for divine energy.
  • When you complete the crown chakra, you should scan down through your chakras one last time to make sure they are all approximately the same size and each one is spinning clockwise just a little faster than the one below it. You can mentally make adjustments as needed.
  • Take a moment to reflect on how good you feel at this moment. Allow yourself to be at peace and to be thankful for the blessings that have been bestowed upon you by spirit.
  • In your mind’s eye, take a quick look at the white shield that you placed around yourself earlier. Visualize tiny rainbow sparkles within it. Do not clear away this shield, take it with you throughout the day. It serves as more of a filter than a shield. It will help protect you from negativity and by staying in it, you will be living from a more spiritual state of awareness.
  • When you are ready, get up slowly from your meditation. Take a moment to stretch and become fully aware before you return to the mundane world.
