Home Purification
A home purification should be done if you are moving into a new home. It doesn’t matter whether you are buying or renting, the idea is to remove any residual or negative energy left behind by the previous family. If you are renting, check to make sure it is ok with your landlord if sage is acceptable.
You can also do a home purification if you believe your home has spirit activity (haunted). I have found that most times, a haunting is explainable with a little research (faulty wiring, mice in the walls or attic etc..). If in doubt, do a home purification. It certainly won’t do any harm. It will also clear away negativity that does gather in any home.
If possible… Before you move anything into your new home… place 8 pennies in your hand. Ask a blessing over them that they bring prosperity into the new home. While standing on the outside of the front door, toss them across the threshold and into the home. This symbolizes the infinite flow of wealth into your new home. This especially important if you have purchased a foreclosure or a home that had financial difficulties. Leave them lay where they fell until you have moved everything into the home. Gather them up and place them in a nice container. Place them in the area where you will be paying your bills. This is to keep the flow of abundance coming into to not just meet your present bills… but to create financial stability in your life.
Supplies:
Sea salt, Sage smudge bundle, lighter, heat proof container to hold the sage
1. Clean the house.
2. Move the salt into the house. Salt brings good luck to the house .
3. Now that the house is clean, it’s time to cleanse. Light the smudge stick and begin at the front door. Move around the house in a clockwise motion holding the smudge in front of you.
4. When you reach a window circle the window counterclockwise asking that anyone or anything be barred from entering. Move the smudge over the window panes to make smoke “bars” across the window.
5. When you reach an outside door, ask that only those with good intentions be allowed to enter and that any negativity is left outside. Don’t bar the door, but circle it counterclockwise with the smudge. This includes spirits.
6. Throw a pinch of salt into dark corners or into rooms that you feel need more attention. Salt will help to remove negative energy.
7. When you enter a room, travel around the perimeter making sure the smoke enters each corner.
8. If you have an attic or storage space, bar the entrance as you did to the windows, asking that no one be allowed to enter. Spirits included.
9. End your house cleansing at the front door where you started. Announce that the cleansing is complete and thank your angels for their participation.
10. It’s customary to conclude a house blessing with a great feast, so bring out the food and drink
If you are having trouble with spirit activity, you can recite the following incantation in every room of the house (including basement, attic, garage etc….):
God/ess Bless this home
every nail and board and stone
clear away energies that harm
Keep them away with this charm
Cleanse and purify this place
Help us create a sacred space
Bestow your loving blessings good

Oh YES! You can do a purification any time. It’s actually a good habit to get into after physically cleaning your home. Once you rclean up the dirt and get the clutter taken care of, move right into cleaning the spiritual energy. It’s also good any time you are stressed or an arguement has taken place. Blessed be!

How do you not set off smoke detectors?
I never had a problem with one going off.
My daughter has lived in her condo for 7 mos. Last night the dog saw “something” in the dining room and growled at it for 10-15 sec. she wasn’t freaked out about it until this am when she awoke 10min before her alarm, went back to sleep and had a VERY vivid dream/visitation that did freak her out. An older man with an accent that told her to get out. He was sitting at her dining room table when he said it. She does not know who he is. I think he is associated with the property as it was sold by an estate a few years ago. It sat empty for 2 yrs until my daughter bought it. Will saging it help get rid of this guy?
A smudge ceremony must be done with great intent on removing the spirit. She must be very firm and commanding in her ceremony. She must convey that he had his time in the home but now she is the owner and care taker of the home. It’s a good idea to show the spirit the same respect you would an elderly relative that doesn’t want to leave his home. Be sure to send him off with a blessing of finding peace. In my own home, I like to fix up something the deceased owner had done to show that I love the place he built. I have cleaned up the flower beds and hung a bird house he had built and painted. I have used his flower pots and I stained an easel he used to have in the garage attic and use it to display a painting I like. This is my way of honoring him.
Once it is done, she must take care not to open spiritual doors once again by engaging in spiritual activity of any kind. If she wants to remain totally free from spirits… she must be very careful to to ignore anything that might seem supernatural. When you give attention to a situation like a flickering light, you feed energy to it. That is why hauntings grow out of control. She must never react or show fear.
how do you have the 8 pennies blessed?
There are many ways to bless an object. Do the one that feels most right FOR YOU. Hold them in your left hand and pray for god/ goddess/ angels/ guides…. whomever you feel most comfortable with. Let them sit out a full day in the sun…. let them sit out during a full moon.
My favorite way to bless and object: Burn incense having to do with prosperity and hold them in the smoke. Imagine that smoke as being magical energy from the universe. Envision it going into every molecule of those pennies and turning them into blessed pennies. Remember that 8 is infinity so you want the flow of money to come in forever.

I’ve lived in my home all my life, i feel as though something is in my attic. Now my attic is not big, it is just a crawl space, because of all the ducts and heating and cooling. Some times i hear bombs go off or my name called. that was in the begining. Now, it’s messing with my dreams. I know these are not my own becasue i would never dream such horrible things. i’m a christian, a baptist. I come from native american decent, i want my bedroom back and for it or the spirtit to go home. will this help me?
Hi! I recommend a home purification with sage. You can find free printable instrutions on my blog as well as sage on my website. It’s easy to do. Basically you are going to clear away the negative energy but also “take over” YOUR territory. I guess my idea is that if you aren’t helping with the mortgage, you don’t have the right to be here without invitation…. so evict anything you feel uncomfortable with.

Good morning, my step-son is 11 years old and has come to live with us (his father, me, and 2 kids). He has been here since June 2012, before it was every other weekend. I have notice a change in the house since he has come to live with us. Lots of negative energy in our home. The place where he lived before is full of negative energy. So, he is a very bitter child.

My daughter-in-law of 7 years recently commited suicide (hung herself) in the house she shared with my son. She was 30 years old and depressed. My son found her and tried to revive her but he was too late. He had purchased the house several years before he met her. Now my son is staying with us as he doesn’t want to live there any longer as he is nervous just going in to get his clothes. I have been going to the house trying to pack up her clothes and belongings to give to her folks and sister. At first it did not bother me, but now I hear sounds and thought I caught a glimpse of something white passing by the master bedroom door when I was packing away some of her clothes. We have never been in a situation like this before, what can we do to the house so we are not so uncomfortable while in there?

My house has had several paranormal issues over the past few years. Everything from lights turning on in our room while we are sleeping, bangs on the wall, things on my bedside table moving around, noises, my wife being scratched (happened multiple times on her back) and now my son is hearing voices. Do I run the risk of “swatting the hornets nest” and making things worse if I smudge my house and it doesn’t work?
